What?

BURY TRAIL, named for the notorious dirt path that runs behind the band’s recording studio, has just finished their first album, SHEBOYGAN, named for the singer’s Wisconsin birthplace. 20 songs that cover a lot of odd territory. A Paris music-hall massacre. A couple fighting over fake statues. A suite about a small-town spaghetti shack. Some tunes are sorta ha-ha. Others pretty boo-hoo. There’s loud guitar, thundering piano, snaky organ and hard drumming, amid wobbly towers of vocals, stabbing strings, swooning horns, woozy harmonicas and, best of all, percussion galore.
